First day in Brazilia

Brazilia, Earthrounders meeting, First Day

It was wonderful to see old friends at the evening get together at the hotel. Earthrounders from the US, Europe, Russia, and came together for four days of touring and meetings. The first evening was just social to renew old friendships and meet the new members. We ate at a typical Brazilian restaurant, with lots of different meat on skewers, serving as much as you can eat. I had five different types of beef and some lamb; it was fantastic.

Can you believe the RED hotel where we are staying, picture above. It’s right next door to the President of Brazil’s palace and on the lake in Brazilia. The first full day included a boat trip on this lake, looking at the different views of Brazilia while we were holding our first roundtable discussions.

In the afternoon, we visited the amazing “Blue Church” or Dom Bosco Sanctuary, see picture. Then we met with the Civil Aviation Authority to give them some input on their procedures and processes compared with other countries. Gerard, our host, had laid the groundwork of this meeting which was very informative for both sides.

Off to dinner; more tomorrow.

  1. CA - loving the commentary and can't tell whether I liked the flying or tourist stories better. Enjoy the rest of the meetings and give Eric a hug for us! Cathy

  2. Ahh, the bright lights and BIG city! Just don't let it go to your head. Remember, you are just a Florida country girl (at heart).
Enjoy, and sample some Brazilian wines for us.
